Hi there! My name is Allison, and I’m a certified birth doula and a birth photographer in the Southwest Michigan area. I’ve been offering labor support to women and their families since 2012. As a doula, my desire is to help women feel loved, nurtured, and listened-to during their season of birth. I believe that birth is special. Sacred. Set-apart. A gift of intricate design given to women by our all knowing and amazing Creator God. And that He designed our bodies with the amazing capability and resiliency to give birth. The more I learn about pregnancy, labor, and birth and the incredible feed-back systems and delicate balance of hormones in the body, the more I stand amazed and convinced that God’s design for birth was not a mere afterthought! Not only is childbirth unique, but each woman is uniquely and intentionally created precious. Therefore, I believe that each birthing woman has her own special, God-designed birth story. As a doula and birth photographer, I delight to support each individual woman in achieving her own birthing goals. To laugh and cry with her and hold her hands through the journey. To nurture, encourage, listen, and respect. To celebrate her birth for the unique gift that it is. But most simply of all, to shower her with God’s love as she experiences one of the most crazy, thrilling, and remarkable moments of her life – a custom-scripted, set-apart birth story!
A Little About Allison: Allison completed her certification as a DONA International birth doula in 2014 and has been offering women labor support since 2012. She is also a member of Birth Seasons, a local doula collaborative striving to offer women compassionate and quality doula care during their season of birth. Allison has sought to expand her skills by receiving education in Spinning Babies, neonatal resuscitation, and birth assisting. When she is not soothing labor pains or behind the lens of her camera, Allison enjoys savoring dark chocolate, sipping hot tea, watching BBC's Call the Midwife, and spending time with her family and friends.

Yours in the journey,
Allison Sobanski, CD(DONA), 269-985-8226

KERRY MATTSON, CD (DONA) 269-463-5844

Serving expecting couples in Fort Wayne and surrounding areas since early 2010, certifying with DONA in 2012. Personally, I have four children ages 4 to 15 and aside from my birth work I’m mainly a stay-at-home mom. I have a degree in psychology and have various volunteer experience in the social services and environmental/civic fields and with animal rescue groups.
I fully support whateverinformed birth choices the birthing couple makes. With that being said, my experience, knowledge base, and passion lie mainly with birth unfolding on its own course, free of interventions. I have experience with homebirths, hospital births, and birth center births; first-time moms to moms of eight; 45 minute labors to three-day labors; c-sections (planned and emergent) and VBAC births; long-time married couples and single moms; births with lay midwives, CNMs, OBs, and perinatologists; births that have gone much smoother than anyone predicted and ones that have taken an unexpected turn. At births, sometimes I lead, sometimes I follow, and most often I simply walk beside. My greatest joy is holding a proverbial mirror up so a woman can see the intrinsic power and beauty she's held all along!

Birth and Postpartum Doula, DONA I've been practicing as a doula for 5 years. My philosophy is that parents should have the birth they want whatever that choice might be as long as it doesn't endanger the baby or the mom. My role as a doula is to support whatever decision they make and help them make that a reality. I have done over 65 births including, home births, hospital births, c-sections, birth center, with drugs, without. They all share the same thrill for me, the joy of being part of this wonderful life event. I also do a lot of postpartum work, helping families adjust to the demands of a new baby and helping them build their own confidence in their parenting skills.
