What's Going On In Our Area

What is The Great Cloth Diaper Change?
It all started as an Earth Day event to bring awareness to what cloth diapering was all about. Soon after, the desire to set a Guinness World Record for the most cloth diapers changed simultaneously around the world was created! Since 2011, thousand of babies have been changed!

The NW Indiana event on Sat. April 23 ..

Another round of Babywearing Dance is starting up soon!
We'll meet on Mondays, from April 4-May 9 from 10:30-11:30 at Dancenter, 427 N. Hickory Rd, South Bend.
In order to make this go, we have to ask for payment up front. I know that it's hard to guarantee getting out of the house with little ones, so I'll give you one freebie--$40 for a 6 week session, all profits donated to LLL SB!
It's really informal and loose, so don't stress about bringing fussy babies/older sibs, or if you haven't had dance experience before, just come enjoy some camaraderie, music, movement, and your baby!

New support group for mom of infants up to three months old starts this Thursday. Hosted by local labor and postpartum doula, Mimi McNamee. Here are the details, copy and pasted from her post:
"New mom group will meet for first time, Thursday April 7 at 10am. Meeting at 1452 Ridgedale rd., south bend. All are invited to this 1st meeting and if there's too many of us , we'll break up for next time. Be thinking about what you need from the group and share with us what has been the biggest challenge in parenting. I know that coming to a group is scary for some of you, but in truth it's hard for most of us. Try it once and if it's not for you, that's fine."

Every month, we feature different moms from the region in our Mom You Should Know section. For our May issue, in honor of Mother's Day, we would like to featurea mom YOU think is deserving of this honor. Is there a mom you know that goes out of her way for others, never asking for anything in return? Is there a mom you admire and respect and want others to know how great she is? If you know someone who fits these parameters, send us a brief description of why she's deserving, along with a photo of the fabulous mom to stephanie@momtomomnwi.com with the subject line Deserving Mom You Should Know. The deadline to enter is Wednesday, April 6 by midnight. The winner be featured in the May issue and on the front cover!!  http://www.momtomomnwi.com
