Hi there! My name is Allison, and I’m a certified birth doula and a birth photographer in the Southwest Michigan area. I’ve been offering labor support to women and their families since 2012. As a doula, my desire is to help women feel loved, nurtured, and listened-to during their season of birth. I believe that birth is special. Sacred. Set-apart. A gift of intricate design given to women by our all knowing and amazing Creator God. And that He designed our bodies with the amazing capability and resiliency to give birth. The more I learn about pregnancy, labor, and birth and the incredible feed-back systems and delicate balance of hormones in the body, the more I stand amazed and convinced that God’s design for birth was not a mere afterthought! Not only is childbirth unique, but each woman is uniquely and intentionally created precious. Therefore, I believe that each birthing woman has her own special, God-designed birth story. As a doula and birth photographer, I delight to support each individual woman in achieving her own birthing goals. To laugh and cry with her and hold her hands through the journey. To nurture, encourage, listen, and respect. To celebrate her birth for the unique gift that it is. But most simply of all, to shower her with God’s love as she experiences one of the most crazy, thrilling, and remarkable moments of her life – a custom-scripted, set-apart birth story!
A Little About Allison: Allison completed her certification as a DONA International birth doula in 2014 and has been offering women labor support since 2012. She is also a member of Birth Seasons, a local doula collaborative striving to offer women compassionate and quality doula care during their season of birth. Allison has sought to expand her skills by receiving education in Spinning Babies, neonatal resuscitation, and birth assisting. When she is not soothing labor pains or behind the lens of her camera, Allison enjoys savoring dark chocolate, sipping hot tea, watching BBC's Call the Midwife, and spending time with her family and friends.

Yours in the journey,

Elevate Michiana Doula Services LLC
Shea Blunier is the owner of Elevate Michiana Doula Services where she offers birth doula services, placenta encapsulation sibling doula services, lactation support, and professional birth planning. She prides herself in providing compassionate, professional and unbiased support. Her clients can rest assured that they have a safe place to turn to, free of judgment, and that we will give them everything they need to make decisions they are confident in and comfortable with. She has always had the desire to serve others but was never sure how to pursue that. While attending the birth of a close friend in a supportive role it all clicked. Shea trained with ProDoula as a birth doula, volunteered as a breastfeeding counselor for a year and a half, and is begining to pursue childbirth education. She is CPR and First Aid certified. She was born and raised right here in Michiana, specifically Elkhart were she attended Baugo community schools and later IUSB as a music education student. Shea now lives in Niles with her husband, their two-year old duaghter, and their fur babies. She likes to spend her time avidly consuming music and coffee, reading and researching all things birthy, finding the perfect Instagram filter to not change the color of her newest "favorite" lipstick, and trying her hand at the latest DIY Pinterest craze.
